Ferreira Named To Academic All-District Volleyball Team

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry senior middle hitter Samara Ferreira was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team for 2009.

The native of Sao Paulo, Brazil has earned a 3.97 GPA as a biology/pre-med major. She has been on the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll for three seasons and is a three-time member of the Barry University President’s List for a 4.0 semester GPA.

On the court, she leads the team in blocks with 55 total, is tied for second on the team with 21 aces, and third on the team with 2.11 points per set.
