Honor Society Alpha Mu Chapter of Chi Sigma Alpha

The Barry University Chapter of Chi Sigma Alpha is Alpha Mu, founded in 2019. Chi Sigma Alpha is an International Student Affairs Honor Society that has connections to the MS in Higher Education Administration, the MS in Leadership and Innovation with a Specialization in Higher Education Administration, and the EdD in Organizational Leadership with a Specialization in Higher Education Administration. This honor society also includes among its members graduate and doctoral program alumni as well as professionals in the field of student affairs and higher education administration.

CSA Mission

“Chi Sigma Alpha is an international honors society comprised of graduate students, alumni, faculty, and student affairs professionals to promote and recognize excellence in academics, research, and service to the profession of student affairs. In the fall of 2001 at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia, Chi Sigma Alpha was founded to promote and recognize excellence in academics, research, and service to the profession of student affairs. Chi Sigma Alpha has now expanded to include over 200 individuals and more than 30 chapters to membership since its formation.”

Membership Information

  • Membership in the society follows the three pillars: excellence in academics, research, and service to the profession of student affairs.
  • Doctoral and non-traditional graduate students are eligible for membership whose academic schedules align with the Society’s values for excellence in academics, research, and service in Higher Education.
  • Graduate students must have maintained an overall scholastic grade point average of 3.5 or better.
  • Membership within the Society is open to qualified candidates without regard to age, disability, ethnicity, gender, national origin, race, religion, and/or sexual orientation.
