Palm Beach County Podiatric Medical Association and Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine will host the 2024 Toes in the Sand Conference. Podiatric physicians will have the opportunity to explore innovations, treatments, and more with experienced lecturers at the conference. 

Eleven (11) Continuing Education Contact Hours will be offered during the conference.

Topics include:

DMRC documentation and billing for surgical supplies dispensed in office, Infectious Disease Update, Complex skin closure, Wound Care, Sports medicine, Metadductus correction, Complex rearfoot challenges, MIS update, and Pain Management.  

Our goals are to provide insight to progressive and most current treatments for the Podiatry community. The skills learned should help enhance the practitioners skills and quality of care for the next day in practice.  Toes in the Sand Symposium has a great reputation as being a favorite for podiatrists and vendors.

At the conclusion of the conference, attendees should be able to: 

  1. Demonstrate the basic principles of treating complex wound closures in the Foot and Ankle.
  2. Properly diagnose and treat lower extremity bone, joint, & soft tissue infections.
  3. Properly diagnose and treat Metatarsus Adductus conservatively and surgically.
  4. Manage lower extremity sports injuries in the geriatric patient.
  5. Understand the latest in-office billing applications of advanced wound products for wound healing.
  6. Understand the basic principles of dermatopathology and its application to diagnose various skin pathologies.
  7. Demonstrate basic principles and new approaches to ligament and tendon reconstruction.
  8. Understand the fixation options available for the surgical management of ankle fracture variants.
  9. Understand the benefits of translucent fixation in foot & ankle surgery.
  10. Understand the use of multimodal pain management for acute and chronic pain management.
  11. Understand the use of percutaneous tenotomies in the office setting.

  9. Understand the basic principles of dermpathology and its application to diagnose various skin pathologies
  10. Demonstrate basic principles and new approaches for forefoot and rearfoot arthrodesis
