The Anatomy Lab
A fixture of anatomy training over three semesters, this innovative lab allows students the invaluable experience of dissecting a human cadaver in a respectful and technologically advanced learning environment.
Equipped with HiDef cameras and monitors, this lab is designed for both the hands-on dissection and up-close observation of human cadavers. Over the course of three semesters, students work in teams to dissect a full human cadaver, focusing intensely on lower-extremity anatomy in semesters two and three.
- A limit of six students per cadaver provides each student with practical dissection experience.
- Every lab is staffed by a professor, assistant professor, and 10 teaching assistants, ensuring an optimal learning environment for all students.
- HiDef cameras transmit cadaveric images to 11 monitors, allowing students to observe dissection procedures from anywhere in the room.
- To optimize learning and discussion, each lab team has access to iPads that connect wirelessly to their own dedicated monitor.
