This workshop will outline competing ethical and professional values, and how to resolve the ethical dilemmas through specific decision-making skills to determine the "right" thing to do. The workshop will allow participants to demonstrate a step-by-step process of ethical decision making related to confidentiality, mandated reporting, duty to warn, autonomy & self-determination, dual relationships, professional competence, client abandonment, social justice & access to care, starting where the client is, acceptance of diversity, beneficence and non-maleficence, and non-judgmental responding. This course meets criteria for required Ethics CEUS for FS ch. 491 licensees.

Dr. Jill Levenson is a Professor of Social Work at Barry University in Miami, FL. She is a SAMHSA-trained trauma-informed care instructor, and Lead Coordinator for the Trauma-informed Training Initiative at Barry’s Center for Human Rights & Social Justice. She has published 5 books and over 100 articles, and is a LCSW and qualified supervisor who has provided clinical services in South Florida for over 30 years. She has provided professional development trainings in more than 20 states, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
