Phi Alpha offers life-long membership to eligible social work students. The National Council of Phi Alpha, the organization’s policymaking body, meets once a year at the Council of Social Work Education’s (CSWE’s) annual program meeting conference. During this meeting, annual service projects are outlined for individual chapters to carry out throughout the academic year. Each chapter has one voting representative on The National Council.
The purpose of Phi Alpha Honor Society is to provide a closer bond among the elite students of social work and promote humanitarian goals and ideas. Phi Alpha fosters high standards of education for social workers and extends invitations only to those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work.
Member invitations are extended to eligible students at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. Eligible students will be invited to an introductory meeting to learn more information about the society and the benefits.
