  4. If you do not meet the requirement to test-optional acceptance, SAT or ACT scores are required for students (applies to students under the age of 21). When submitting an ACT and/or SAT score you may:
    • Request that official scores be sent to Barry directly from the testing agency.

    • Self-report your scores on your application. Enter your highest score for each section exactly as you receive them. If you are self-reporting your scores, you will be required to submit official score reports only if you are admitted and choose to enroll.
  5. If you have completed a G.E.D., forward the official results of that examination and the high school transcripts documenting your secondary education.
  6. For assistance with the application process and a full description of admissions requirements, please consult your program pages, the Barry University catalog, or better yet, speak with your admissions counselor when you visit us on campus.

Test Optional

Admission to Barry University can be offered to test optional applicants; which means SAT/ACT scores are not required. Test optional candidates will be evaluated solely on their academic performance in high school. GPA above 2.3+ may be considered for test optional admission for most majors.

Note*: If an applicant’s test score is at least SAT 880/ACT 17 consideration for admission may be given for specific majors. However, we strongly encourage applicants with scores above our average SAT 1011/ACT 20, to submit test scores, especially if considering Bright Futures, Honors Program, STEM program, and select scholarships.
