Biography

Elizabeth Ricci (1996) practices immigration law from Florida’s Capital. She concentrates on National Interest Waivers (Green Cards without sponsors), cap exempt H-1Bs and I-9 compliance. Well known for her pro bono work for foreign born U.S. Military veterans, she was named the "Go-to lawyer for veterans" by the Philadelphia Enquirer. She has been featured on Univision, Fox and Friends, in the New York Times on CNN and other major media outlets. She was appointed by the President of the United States to serve on the Selective Service System Board. She also serves as the American Immigration Lawyers Association Central Florida Chapter’s DMV Committee Chair, ICE Vice Chair and Unlicensed Practice of Law Vice Chair. She is a Board Member of the Capital City Chamber of Commerce and the Holocaust Education Resource Council. She sits on the "Do Justice" Refugee Committee. She previously served on Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice’s Pro Bono Committee. Ricci taught immigration law, legal writing and administrative law at Barry’s Tallahassee campus. She has written several scholarly articles including an entry in the Encyclopedia of the Supreme Court, an op-ed in the Harvard G&L Review, profiles in The Federal Lawyer, and for various journals. Recent presentations have been at Good Shepherd Catholic First Baptist, United Church, St. John’s Episcopal, among others. Before becoming an attorney, Ricci majored in International Business. She was the President of Barry University’s International Business Association which was named Outstanding Student Organization. As part of her major, Ricci worked at the U.S. Trade Center, Mexico City where she wrote speeches and news articles. After graduation from Barry, she was a Small Business Development volunteer in the Peace Corps in Guatemala where she organized women’s communal banks and taught small business development. Ricci attended Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center where she was editor of the newspaper, President of Phi Alpha Delta International Law Fraternity, argued on the First Amendment Moot Court Team, clerked with Children First and studied under Ira Kurzban. Ricci is married to her law partner Neil St. John Rambana. They have two daughters, Paloma, age 14 and Belén, age 11. They enjoy traveling, theatre and volunteering.
