Biography

As the Vice President for Administrative Services and Organizational Development of Barry University, Jennifer Boyd-Pugh serves as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and provides strategic oversight to the departments of Human Resources, Alumni Relations and Annual Giving, Payroll, and Organizational Development and Training. Jennifer has served the Barry University community for over 25 years. Under her leadership, she brought the Human Resource department into the 21st century and was the functional lead for the Human Resource Information System Workday deployment. Jennifer is also a certified EEOC Investigator and Title IX Coordinator. Jennifer is actively engaged as a board member for the Independent Colleges and Universities Benefit Association (ICUBA) since 2014. She served as Board Chair from 2015 through 2017. She currently serves as the Board Treasurer. The Independent Colleges and Universities Benefits Association, Inc. (ICUBA) is a nonprofit Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement operating as a Voluntary Employees' Beneficiary Association in the State of Florida. As a Health Care Cooperative, membership is open to any nonprofit, private Florida education employer, including any member of the Independent Colleges and Universities of Florida (ICUF) or Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS). There are currently 16,200+ members from 27 employers covered in the health plans offered by ICUBA. Jennifer is a currently a member of the Colleges and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR). She served as Secretary to the Florida Chapter from 2012-2015. She is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management. Jennifer is a double alumna of Barry University, completing her Bachelor of Science degree in 1994 and a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Development and Administration in 2001. Jennifer played on the first Barry softball team to reach the NCAA Championship Finals in 1994, she was an All-American softball player that year, and she is on the Athletic Wall of Honor. After graduation, Jennifer mentored and coached competitive softball for over 15 years, to afford female athletes the opportunity to earn scholarships to pay for their education. Jennifer has been married to David Pugh for over 26 years and has two adult children, Britney and David. Jennifer is part of a family legacy of Barry graduates. Her mother, sister, daughter and husband are all Barry University graduates.
