Biography

A former championship rower at Barry, Vanessa was accepted into Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management Master of Science program in 2011. Soon after, a highly sought-after position opened up at the legendary Fontainebleau Miami Beach for a Marketing Intern, which gave her the perfect combination of service, hospitality and data-driven marketing with the ability to diversify her industry experience. Throughout her five-years at the Fontainebleau, she held various positions, bringing their marketing strategy to life and overseeing several new concept launches. Her initiatives, strategic implementation of the resort’s custom website, and CRM platform garnered her the title of Team Member of the Year in 2013. From there she was recruited by sbe to serve as the Regional Director of Marketing of their Miami Region overseeing five hotels and seven restaurant brands with a focus on the opening of their new property SLS Brickell. She oversaw the strategy and execution of their marketing and public relations initiatives aiming at driving direct revenue and increasing brand awareness in a highly-competitive market. Vanessa has since returned to the family who launched her career to direct the $150 million-dollar rebranding of the Turnberry Isle Miami. She works closely with the resort’s executive team to tie the day-to-day operations of the reimagined JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa and its myriad of new upgrades and amenities, into customer facing messaging of the 300-acre world-class resort and spearheading the resort’s new global advertising campaign. With more than 8 years’ of experience in digital marketing, communications and brand strategy, her impressive brand portfolio includes the renowned Fontainebleau Miami Beach, it’s AAA Four-Diamond Restaurants: Scarpetta, Hakkasan, StripSteak by Michael Mina (formerly Gotham Steak), Pizza and Burger (formerly Michael Mina 74), sbe’s portfolio of hotel and restaurant brands: SLS South Beach, SLS Brickell, The Raleigh, The Redbury, The Townhouse, Bazaar by José Andrés, Fi’lia by Michael Schwartz, Katusya, Cleo, K Ramen, The Restaurant at the Raleigh and Hyde Beach Kitchen + Cocktails and JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa’s two championship golf courses, the award-winning âme Spa & Wellness Collective, Starbucks, BOURBON STEAK by Michael Mina, CORSAIR kitchen & bar, Tidal Cove and Turnberry Isle Country Club.
