The Honors Program at Barry is designed to challenge, enrich, and prepare especially motivated students to pursue their fullest potential. By participating in a rigorous curriculum rounded out by an array of edifying and interactive events, students explore crucial issues that we face in our daily lives. Students are given the space for discussion and debate and the opportunity to learn from experts in their fields. The Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library is located in the center of the beautiful Miami Shores campus of Barry University. The Library is named in loving memory of Monsignor William Barry, one of the founders of Barry University and an inspirational figure in the Catholic Church within the Archdiocese of Miami. The extensive Library research collections include more than 950,000 physical items, over 40,000 print and on-line journal subscriptions, and several thousand on-line books and streaming video resources.

We are an NCAA Division II school and a member of the Sunshine State Conference with 12 varsity teams, including men's baseball, basketball, golf, soccer and tennis; and women's basketball, golf, rowing, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. So far, we've won 24 NCAA championships, had 338 All-Americans, 413 Scholar All-Americans, and nine NCAA "Women of the Year" finalists, the most of any Division II school. Not bad at all, but we're going for more.

Biography

Kelley Eddington Magana is the College of Health and Wellness (CHW) Director of Business Operations. In this position, Kelley provides overall business and administrative guidance within CHW. Her position supports the fulfillment of CHW initiatives, aligned with CHW's strategic agenda. As director and senior member of the leadership team, Kelley manages overall internal and external business operations which include developing, interpreting, and implementing policies in collaboration with CHW academic program directors. Kelley joined Barry University in 2011. Initially, she served as Operations Manager for the Division of Nursing. In 2013, she was promoted to the Assistant Dean role. Prior to joining Barry University, Kelley managed investor relations and fund administration for a multi-million dollar healthcare venture firm. She worked strategically to assist in raising two successful funds while overseeing fund operations. Kelley is an active member of the Business Officers of Nursing Schools (BONUS) through the American Association of Colleges of Nursing; National Venture Capital Association; Venture Capital Office Managers Association; Latin American Private Equity & Venture Capital Association; American Marketing Association, the Beacon Council, and the Miami Finance Forum. Kelley graduated with a B.A. from the University of Houston and a M.A. from Barry University. She earned an Education Doctorate (Ed.D.) in Organizational Learning and Leadership program from Barry University with a specialization in Human Resource Development.
