Pamela S. Johnson, MS

Pamela began her professional career in the Financial Aid Office at Syracuse University in New York, facilitating school, state and federal aid, while counseling over 4,000 students on their educational finances. At the University of Colorado at Boulder Admissions Office, she was selected to identify, recruit, admit and enroll qualified undergraduate students. As the Director of Admissions and Recruitment for an independent college preparatory high school in South Florida, she made all admission decisions and successfully exceeded enrollment targets each year. Pamela joined the Biomedical Sciences MS department at Barry in 2014. During her tenure, she has created a network of dental, medical (DO and MD), physician assistant, and podiatry school admissions directors, academic deans and/or directors of diversity, equity and inclusion, to advocate for her students. Each year more than 30 of these individuals visit with BMS students to discuss the unique offerings of their schools. She has guided hundreds of students through much of the professional school application process. Her work includes presenting personal statement workshops, conducting mock interviews, establishing a mentor/mentee program and encouraging each student to find their own healthy balance between a rigorous graduate school curriculum and everyday life demands.
