Biography
Dr. Lilia DiBello is an associate professor in the College of Health and Wellness at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. She currently serves as associate dean for the curriculum, pedagogy and research unit. This unit includes the BS (with MS option) in education program, the Montessori graduate programs, the MS in Exceptional Student Education, the MS in Reading, the MS in Curriculum and Instruction, and the PhD in Curriculum and Instruction programs. Dr. DiBello is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the National Association for Early Childhood Teacher Educators (NAECTE), Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI), the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), and the Southern Early Childhood Association (SECA).
Dr. DiBello co-edited the special theme edition of a childhood education journal, which focused on school readiness and pre-kindergarten programs. She has an interest in teacher preparation, specifically early childhood professional development and her research has focused on self-regulated learning, technology in the early childhood classroom, and the education of Hispanic Americans. In 2012 she co-authored Hispanic/Latino American Families in the United States: An Introduction for Educators and Care Providers.
Dr. DiBello serves on the United Way Center for Excellence advisory board and the board of the YWCA of Miami.
