Areas of Interest
Dr. Des Rosiers’ work bridges developmental psychology, health psychology, and cultural psychology to examine at the individual, cultural, and social level risk and protective factors associated with development of racial and ethnic minority youth.
Biography
Prior to coming to Barry, she was a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Miami and taught at Florida International University.
Dr. Des Rosiers is a developmental psychologist and joined the faculty at Barry in 2012. Dr. Des Rosiers is currently the coordinator for the Child and Adolescent Development Specialization (CADS) and the co-investigator of the Family Adolescent Cultural Transitions laboratory (F.A.C.T Lab) in the Department of Psychology at Barry University. She is also a counselor and serves as the vice-chair of the Psychology Division of the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR). Previously, Dr. Des Rosiers served as the co-chair of the Barry University Faculty Senate Academic Affairs Committee (2018-2020) and chair of the Retention and Dismissal Committee (2020-2021).
