Biography

Foreman is the co-editor of seven books including six in The Roads to Congress series and Local Politics and Mayoral Elections in 21st Century America: The Keys to City Hall which is part of the Routledge Research in Urban Politics and Policy Series. Among numerous articles and book chapters on public policy and elections, two recent ones include “Obama and Congress,” in Leadership and Legacy: The Presidency of Barack Obama, edited by Tom Lansford, et. al. (2020), and “Money in Politics,” in Divided Union: Structural Challenges to Bipartisanship in America, edited by Dario Moreno, Eduardo Gamarra, Patrick Murphy and David Jolly (2021).

Foreman is a founder and co-chair of Barry’s Campus Democracy Project, a civic engagement committee. Dr. Foreman is a longtime Board Member of the Florida Political Science Association (FPSA), was FPSA president in 2012, and has served as Secretary of FPSA since 2015. He also has served since 2013 as the representative of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce on the Miami-Dade County Public School District’s 21st Century Bond community advisory committee. Foreman is a past recipient of Florida Campus Compact's Graham-Frey Civic Award and of ASPA-South Florida’s Public Educator of the Year Award. He is quoted in media reports around the world and is a regular panelist on several local TV shows and an Elections Analyst for WIOD News Radio 610 AM.
