Biography
Dr. Hassan Azari's academic journey reflects his unwavering dedication to anatomical sciences and medical education. Graduating from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, Iran, he pursued a Ph.D. from Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in collaboration with the University of Queensland, Australia.
Following his doctoral pursuits, Dr. Azari delved into post-doctoral research at the University of Florida's McKnight Brain Institute, focusing on neural stem cell and regenerative neuroscience. He later contributed significantly to the University of Florida Brain Tumor Immunotherapy Program.
In 2016, Dr. Azari assumed the role of Associate Professor of Anatomical Sciences at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences before returning to the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2018 as a Research Assistant Professor.
In January 2022, Dr. Azari joined Barry University, Miami Shores, Florida, as Associate Professor in Anatomy at the School of Podiatric Medicine. As the director of the Anatomy Laboratory, he oversees the development and implementation of innovative teaching methods.
Over 15 years, Dr. Azari's passion for teaching has touched countless students, mentoring them in biomedical sciences. His research spans neural stem cell biology, dendritic cell-based vaccine immunotherapy, and dietary interventions for brain tumors, with a focus on natural products, cannabinoids, and extracellular vesicles for treating neurological diseases.
Recognized for his achievements, Dr. Azari serves on the review board of biomedical journals and has authored numerous papers and book chapters. His holistic approach to academia and research underscores his commitment to excellence.
