Biography
Dr. Antonella V. Schwarz is an Assistant Professor of Exercise Sciences at Barry University, where she specializes in exercise physiology with a focus on human performance. With a diverse background as an athletic trainer, strength and conditioning professional, researcher, and educator, Dr. Schwarz has made substantial contributions to the field of exercise science.
She earned her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training and her master’s degree in Physiology and Kinesiology from the University of Florida. Following her passion for exercise science, Dr. Schwarz completed her Ph.D. at Liberty University, where her research focused on skeletal muscle hypertrophy and its implications for human performance.
Dr. Schwarz is an active member of several leading professional organizations, including the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN), the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA).
Outside of her academic pursuits, Dr. Schwarz enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle through weightlifting and running. She also cherishes spending time with her husband, JJ Schwarz, and their dog, Griffey.
