
Biography
Christopher Ogolla is an Associate Professor of Law at Barry University, Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law where he teaches evidence, healthcare law, immigration law and torts. Prior to joining Barry Law School, Ogolla was a visiting professor at Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in Raleigh, North Carolina. Ogolla has also taught at Savannah Law School, a branch of the John Marshall Law School in Atlanta Georgia. Prior to teaching, Ogolla worked at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia as an Association of Schools of Public Health (ASPH) research fellow, and as a public health law intern in the Public Health Law Program. Additionally, he served as a public health representative for the New York State Department of Health, Division of TB Control, in New Rochelle, New York.
Professor Ogolla’s research focuses on the intersection of public health, policy, and law. He explores various ways in which public health activities, e.g., vaccinations, are constrained by statutes and the U.S. Constitution and how courts have traditionally handled public health disputes. His publications appear in the Drexel Law Review, Georgetown Journal of Law & Modern Critical Race Perspectives, Indiana Law Review, Penn State Dickinson Law Review, University of Toledo Law Review and other law and healthcare journals.
Professor Ogolla earned his BA from the University of Nairobi; Master of Art and Master of Public Health degrees from the University of Massachusetts Amherst; JD from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University; and LLM from the University of Houston Law Center. He received multiple Professor of the Year awards at Savannah Law School and was voted 2022-2023 Doctrinal Professor of the Year at Barry Law School.
