Biography
Dr. Hamilton works as Adjunct Professor of Anesthesiology and Adjunct Professor of Curriculum and Instruction at Barry University. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, he completed his undergraduate degree in English Education at The Ohio State University (OSU). Dr. Hamilton worked as a middle school teacher for 25 in the Miami-Dade Co. Public School District, teaching language arts, reading, writing, and the visual arts, where he focused on ceramics. During that time, he received his Master of Science in Reading degree from Barry University and taught part-time for Miami-Dade College. His interest in inferential statistics began through coursework completed at Florida International University, where he received an Ed. D. in Higher Education. That interest led to the completion and presentation of several action research studies designed to improve decision-making for leaders in education and the City of North Miami. Dr. Hamilton has also presented or co-presented at several conferences, including presentations for the American Educational Research Association and the Council for the Study of Community Colleges. He has also written articles for Radical Teacher and the Center for Folklore Studies at OSU.
