Biography

Dawn Dalpé Welliver, DNP, CRNA, APRN, serves as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Barry University College of Health Professions & Medical Sciences. Originally from the Philadelphia area, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at West Chester University and worked for 10 years in trauma and surgical intensive care at Albert Einstein Medical Center before entering Lankenau Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia. She received her Master of Science with a concentration in anesthesia from St. Joseph’s University in 1998 and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Texas Christian University in 2012. Dr. Dalpé Welliver has served on the Editorial Board and as Editor in Chief for Anesthesia eJournal, and she continues to provide peer review for AANA Journal and Gastroenterology Nursing. She has authored several peer-reviewed publications and authored a chapter and co-edited the textbook "Drug/Drug Interactions" for AANA Publishing. Dr. Dalpé Welliver has been employed as a nurse anesthetist in a variety of clinical settings, including Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Jackson Memorial, and Mount Sinai Medical Center, and has been an independent contractor of anesthesia for 22 years since relocating to Florida. Outside of all things anesthesia, Dr. Dalpé Welliver can be found playing the piano, dabbling in photography, or hanging out with her two daughters.
