Biography

Dr. Deen has been a member of the Barry University community since 2005, having served in a variety of admissions roles, with her latest position being Senior Director, appointed in 2022. With over 18 years of experience in higher education administration, she has been instrumental in the admissions process for the Health Professions and Medical Sciences programs. Her responsibilities include recruiting prospective students, guiding them through the application process, and facilitating their successful enrollment.

Furthermore, Dr. Deen is responsible for overseeing the planning and development of both undergraduate nursing and graduate programs within the College of Health Professions and Medical Sciences. Her commitment to the university extends beyond admissions; she actively participates in numerous initiatives, including Founder’s Week, the Quality Improvement Program, and the Food Pantry.  Dr. Deen also participated in the 2025 Leadership Summit and facilitated a roundtable discussion on the theme "Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations."

Dr. Deen earned her doctorate in Organizational Leadership with a specialization in Human Resource Development from Barry University, where her dissertation focused on enhancing collaboration and teamwork among staff through a practical training model. She also co-authored a paper on improving collaboration in higher education, which was presented at the Eastern Education Research Conference in February 2025. Since Fall 2024, she has taken on the role of adjunct faculty, teaching courses in the MS Health Services Administration program and the Clinical Laboratory Sciences master’s program. Dr. Deen is dedicated to ensuring the success of her students.
