Biography
Dean Frank Schiavo is one of the founding faculty members of the School of Law. He also served as Associate Dean from August 1998 to January 2003 and again from January 2007 to December 2009. Dean Schiavo teaches Federal Income Taxation, Contracts, Corporate Income Tax, Taxation of International Transactions, and Wills, Trusts and Estates. He is also the current faculty advisor for Barry Law School’s VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program. Having begun his legal career in Philadelphia and continued it to Haddonfield, New Jersey, he maintained a law practice in Central Florida for eight years, specializing in estate planning, corporate and individual tax planning, and corporate and contract law. Before joining Barry University, Dean Schiavo practiced as a C.P.A. for ten years at a local firm, where he held the position of tax manager.
