Biography
Dr. Graham Shaw is an accomplished academic in Biochemistry and Health Sciences. He earned his BSc in Applied Biology with First Class Honors from Bristol Polytechnic and completed his Ph.D. at Aston University in 1987. He restarted his academic journey by completing an MBA from Barry University in 2019.
With over three decades in academia, Dr. Shaw's roles range from Postdoctoral Research Assistant at Aston University to his current position as Professor of Biochemistry at the School of Podiatric Medicine, Barry University. Notable awards include the Outstanding Scholarship Award from Barry University (2003-2008), the 2019 Outstanding Business Student, and the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine Pre-Clinical Sciences Faculty Award in 2023.
Dr Shaw is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, and his impactful research has been presented at national and international conferences. Dr Shaw's research covers diverse topics, from podiatric students' computer literacy and medical education innovations to academic leadership and impact of COVID-19 on medical education. His 2019 textbook, "Biochemistry for Health Professionals," is a valued resource for his students.
Beyond academia, Dr. Shaw engages in professional activities, serving as a question writer for the Biochemistry section of the National Board of Podiatric Medicine Exam since 2002 and acting as an expert editor for medical education and leadership journals.
