Biography
John Duffy, MBA, OT/L, CHT is an Occupational Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist. He has been practicing occupational therapy for over 20 years. He has work experience in acute care, in-patient rehabilitation, outpatient, home health and presently in the skilled nursing industry. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and Master of Business Administration from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. He started his career in outpatient for 6 years doing upper extremity rehabilitation at Mercy Hospital in Miami, Florida. He established relationships with many local orthopedic surgeons in South Florida and started the Upper Extremity Program at Mercy Hospital. After practicing upper extremity rehabilitation, he took a position as a Director of Rehabilitation in a skilled nursing facility. He was then promoted to multi-site management and has over 10 years of experience as a Regional Director of Operations overseeing rehab departments in multiple skilled nursing facilities. Currently, John is a HealthCare Specialist for Harmony Healthcare International (HHI) a nationally known nursing home consulting company and specializes in rehabilitation operational consulting. John has been an Adjunct Lecturer in the Occupational Therapy Program at Barry University since 2008 and has taught Seminar in Professional Issues, Evaluation of the Older Adult, Kinesiology for Health Care Majors, and Hand Therapy.
