Biography
Congratulations on your professor emeritus status, Dr. Goehl! This is a well-deserved honor attributed to your many accomplishments and tireless work towards the advancement of physics. Throughout his tenure at Barry University, Dr. Goehl contributed to enhancing physics through teaching, research, and service. In earlier years, he was the only instructor for the subject at the University. He dedicated his time to develop what still stands as the core of our current physics curriculum. He also participated in the development of a physics minor and the pre-engineering and dual degree programs. Dr. Goehl’s prolific scholarly activity started early in his career as a regular contributor to journals dedicated to solving mathematical problems. In addition, he has two publications co-authored with Dr. Giannotti and undergraduate students published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. An avid advocate for the advancement of physics studies, Dr. Goehl volunteered countless community service hours to promoting the subject and fostering its interest among K-12 students. He conducted lectures enhanced with physics demonstrations for elementary students at St Rose of Lima and judged their Science Fair projects. Moreover, he participated in the organization of a physics competition during the annual Chemistry and Physics Tournament for high school students and has supported this event since its inception in 1998. Dr. Goehl, we thank you for your service, and we wish you all the best on your new journey!
