Biography

As a nurse practitioner, Dr. Albuja has experience in maternal child health, currently working in pediatrics on a Mobile Clinic and also in a School Health Initiative. She also worked in an OBGYN practice previously. Dr. Albuja's areas of research interest are maternal obesity, pediatric obesity, and implementing health and wellness in the maternal and pediatric population. Her recent publications include “Women's and Healthcare Workers' Beliefs and Experiences Surrounding Abortion: The Case of Haiti” in the Journal of Nursing Scholarship, “The Keys to Success in Doctoral Studies: Pre-Immersion Course” in the Journal of Professional Nursing, and “Maternal-Child Health Needs Assessment in Haiti” in the Journal of Applied Science and Technology.
