Biography
Nicholas J. Christopolis, Esq. is an Associate Professor of Law at Barry University School of Law, joining the faculty in Fall of 2022. His current areas of teaching are Legal Research & Writing and Internet Law. He also serves as the Faculty Advisor to the Moot Court Honors Board. His primary area of interest for scholarship is legal issues affecting sports - specifically legal developments related to name, image, and likeness (NIL) in college athletics and cybersecurity issues relating to major sports leagues as critical infrastructure. Prior to coming to Barry, Professor Christopolis served as Professor of Law at another law school where he also taught Torts and Contracts.
Professor Christopolis earned his bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from the University of Georgia and Juris Doctor degree from Florida State University. He also possesses a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of North Florida. Professor Christopolis is admitted to practice in all courts in the State of Florida and is a 20-year practitioner. He most recently was a partner in the appellate department at one of the largest insurance defense law firms in Florida with a representative clientele that included Walmart, Simon Properties, and Universal Insurance.
Professor Christopolis was born in Cleveland, Ohio and spent most of his life in Jacksonville, Florida. He is the father of twins, enjoys doing the occasional sprint triathlon, and an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the NBA team of his new hometown the Orlando Magic.
