Biography

Orlando E. Valdes has been the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator of Barry University's Occupational Therapy Program since 2008. Orlando earned a bachelor's in arts degree in Chemistry from Florida International University in 1999. He earned a master's in science in Occupational Therapy in 2007 from Barry University. He has a background in marketing and management. His duties include the coordination of Level I and Level II coursework and teaching the Evaluation and Intervention lab courses and other classes in the Occupational Therapy program. Orlando has occupational therapy clinical experience in outpatient neurology, pediatric therapy, inpatient rehabilitation, acute inpatient, and home health. He was formerly an employee at Baptist Hospital of Miami and currently maintains clinical work in the home healthcare arena with adult clients for Baptist Home Health and The Palace at Home. He is a member of AOTA, FOTA, CLIPP, and FLOTEC, the academic fieldwork coordinators organization. Orlando graduated with a Doctor of Occupational Therapy in May 2021. Orlando grew up in Miami, Florida, and is married with three children.
