Biography
Professor Gianino is an Assistant Professor of Law at Barry University, where he teaches courses on constitutional law, property law, and patent law. Along those lines, his research examines the history, law, and theory of intellectual property, with particular focus on their relationship to American constitutionalism.
Prior to joining Barry’s faculty, Professor Gianino was a member of the law faculty at Washington University, where he taught courses on intellectual property law and constitutional law. During his time at WashULaw, he served as the director of the intellectual property clinic – a role in which he taught and practiced in the areas of copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, and the right of publicity. Before joining WashULaw’s faculty, Professor Gianino practiced as a patent attorney in the St. Louis office of Armstrong Teasdale LLP. He has a law degree from Washington University and an industrial engineering degree from the University of Missouri, and he is registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a patent attorney.
