Biography
Dr. Koplow has extensive clinical experience working in rehabilitation and nursing home settings. Her primary focus of study pertains to the understanding the role of the caregiver in the nursing home placement process. The ultimate goal of her research focuses on offering healthcare providers, family caregivers, and older adults a more comprehensive knowledge of the complex long-term care system. Her research has received numerous accolades, including grant funding from the Midwest Nursing Research Society and Sigma Theta Tau International. Her work has been published in the prestigious Journal of Family Nursing and Journal of Gerontological Nursing. Most recently, Dr. Koplow has been pursuing an interest in exploring interprofessional educational opportunities.
Dr. Koplow is excited to be a faculty member of the Barry University College of Nursing and Health Sciences. She has a passion for nursing education and building strong nurse leaders. Dr. Koplow recognizes there is a tremendous demand for qualified professionals who can advocate for the unique needs of older adults and their families. She hopes to inspire next generation of nurses to work in the growing field of gerontological nursing.
