Biography
Stephen Kaiser is an assistant professor of Theatre at Barry University. He has over seventeen years of experience as a professional actor, director, and teaching artist. He was recently featured in several national/global commercial campaigns alongside celebrities such as Lionel Messi, Jimmy Butler, Canelo Alvarez and Shakira. Some of his commercial credits include Michelob Ultra, Lays, PNC Bank, Google Health, Pepsi, and Office Depot. Stephen played “Iggy” in the STARZ original series Magic City and was awarded “Best Actor” at the 2021 FilmGate Free-For-All film festival. Stephen’s stage credits include Island City Stage, New City Players, “M” Ensemble, Miami Theatre Center, Oil Lamp Theatre Company, StageDoor Theatre, MadCat Theatre Company, Outré Theatre, and the YoungArts Out-Of-The-Box Performance Series.
Stephen is a specialist in immersive, nontraditional theatre practice. He has performed in several editions of Juggerknot Theatre Company’s acclaimed site-specific production Miami Motel Stories. He also served as Artistic Director of The Project Theatre where he devised and directed immersive theatre productions performed in “found” spaces and large theater venues such as The Gleason Room at The Fillmore Miami Beach.
Stephen holds a BFA in Performance from Southern Methodist University, an MFA in Performance form Florida Atlantic University and is an alumni of the magnet Theatre program at New World School of the Arts. As an acting professor, he focuses on the performance techniques of Konstantin Stanislavski and Uta Hagen. His approach to voice and movement work incorporate elements of Kristin Linklater voice work and Alexander movement technique. With these combined influences Stephen provides a wholistic approach to actor training; incorporating both the physical and psychological understanding necessary to build rich and dynamic characters for the stage and film.
