Biography

Thomas Rockwell grew up in Norwalk, Connecticut. In 1996 he received his B.F.A. in Graphic Design with a Photography minor from the Cleveland Institute of Art in Cleveland, Ohio and in 2002 he earned his M.F.A. in Graphic Design from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. Tom began his career in design working at his parents’ print shops in the early eighties before entering the New York commercial art scene as a Marketing Assistant for the Dutch copier company, Océ-Business Systems, Inc. He has had ads appear in the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times and had the opportunity to work with Anderson-Lembke Advertising Agency. Rockwell left the world of corporate advertising in 1987 to assume the position of Publications Director for the State University of New York at Purchase. Thomas came to Barry University in 2002 to create the university's graphic design program.
