Biography

I decided on a STEM major at Barry because I thought it would be the best path to pursue a career in physical therapy. I first knew I had a passion for STEM in 8th grade when I heard there was a STEM club at school – I had always wanted to be a part of a STEM program and here was my opportunity! The experience that has made me feel most excited to be a STEM major was probably being able to use all the STEM disciplines in a project to see how well they work together. The most exciting STEM-related topic I have studied or learned about so far was learning how to build a Rude Goldberg Machine for my physics class. In ten years, I would love to be a physical therapist specifically focused on sports because after I suffered a broken ankle in 2019, my recovery was aided by doing physical therapy. I got inspired to help others recover so that they can get back to the sport they love.
