Biography

Monique A. Motte RN, BSN graduated from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan with an area of concentration in Psychology.

Monique is a member of “Signa Theta Tau” International Honor Society of Nursing. While at Wayne State, she became a member of a social group which advocates for a “healthy, just and peaceful world”: Physicians for Social Responsibility.

Upon graduating from Wayne State University, Monique worked as an Assistant Clinical Manager for 15 years with the sisters of St Joseph at St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. During this time, Monique assisted in running the St John Hospital Kidney-Pancreas Transplant Unit.

She also has experience in NICU, Telemetry, Psychiatric Nursing, Critical Care, Orthopedics, Labor and Delivery and CAPD Dialysis. While at St John Hospital, Monique presented a formal conference in Nursing Care of the Transplant Patient.

Monique relocated to South Florida in 1997 with her husband Reinhard, and their daughter Angela. After coming to South Florida, Monique worked in Home Health Care for 17 years as a Case Manager. Monique came to Barry in the Office of Student Health Services in October 2018.

Monique loves the diversity of Barry University along with the youthful energy of working with students at Barry.
