The Honors Program at Barry is designed to challenge, enrich, and prepare especially motivated students to pursue their fullest potential. By participating in a rigorous curriculum rounded out by an array of edifying and interactive events, students explore crucial issues that we face in our daily lives. Students are given the space for discussion and debate and the opportunity to learn from experts in their fields. The Office of Financial Aid can assist with determining eligibility for the Honors Program.

The Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library is located in the center of the beautiful Miami Shores campus of Barry University. The Library is named in loving memory of Monsignor William Barry, one of the founders of Barry University and an inspirational figure in the Catholic Church within the Archdiocese of Miami. The extensive Library research collections include more than 950,000 physical items, over 40,000 print and on-line journal subscriptions, and several thousand on-line books and streaming video resources.

We are an NCAA Division II school and a member of the Sunshine State Conference with 12 varsity teams, including men's baseball, basketball, golf, soccer and tennis; and women's basketball, golf, rowing, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. So far, we've won 24 NCAA championships, had 338 All-Americans, 413 Scholar All-Americans, and nine NCAA "Women of the Year" finalists, the most of any Division II school. Not bad at all, but we're going for more.

What is your favorite location on campus?
My favorite location on campus is Wiegand hall because it makes me feel at home. In Wiegand hall everyone is walking around in scrubs and doing what they are supposed to do. That type of atmosphere makes me excited for my future as a nurse.

Why did you choose Barry?
I chose Barry because I love the class sizes, as well as the atmosphere. In my experience everyone at Barry has always been friendly to me. Also, I love that I get to interact with my professors and that they know who I am. I love that I can ask them any questions if I need. Overall, the classes are a lot more personalized. I also chose Barry because they have an amazing nursing program, that produces grate nurses every year.

Why I am a student ambassador
I am a student ambassador because I like the idea of meeting new people who are interested in coming to Barry and helping them see the beauty and the good things of the Barry community.

Campus involvement:
I am not involved in a lot of things at Barry because I have a very demanding school schedule. However, I am Barry university’s nursing student association’s class representative.

Advice you would give your high school self now that you are a Barry buccaneer?
If I could give any advice to my high school self it would be to be more involved and to participate in all the amazing events that Barry plans. I would also tell my high school self to not be afraid of meeting new people and to make new friends.

Service opportunity you’ve participated in?
I would say to go to the community service office and work with them because they have some amazing service opportunities.

What are your future plans?
My future plan is to be a nurse in a neonatal intensive care unit. I also want to do everything in my power to help people.
