Biography

Hometown: Miami Gardens, Florida What is your favorite location on campus? My favorite location on campus has to be Bucky's cove! There are a lot of different places that I love to go to, but when I need just a breath of fresh air, I somehow find myself at Bucky's Cove. Why did you choose Barry? Barry University just felt right. It was small, and the academics offered allowed me to do a variety of things I already loved in the form of production, theatre, and music. I just felt like this place could be a nice home to me and give me a variety of ways to fit in. Why I am a student ambassador? I am a Student Ambassador because I love Barry University, I love what it stands for, and I hope to share my love with future Buccaneers. There's a place at Barry for everyone, and you just have to find it, and I'd love to help. Campus involvement: During my freshman year, I tried not to get involved due to my timid nature, but it's college, and I really wanted to leave a mark at Barry. This led me to participate in the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP), and from ELP I was able to garner the attention of the Orientation Team Leaders, and now I am one myself. I also work under work-study in residential housing. Advice you would give your high school self now that you are a Barry Buccaneer: The advice I'd give myself honestly would be not to be so afraid to bond and connect and put yourself out there. Be social. Tips for someone searching for the right college: I would recommend looking at how large the college is, does it allow you to blend in or be seen? This can help you decide which school best fits your personality. Service opportunity you've participated in: During my freshman year, I had a communications class, and we did a service by helping an organization called the Nehemiah Pact Group, which was ironic due to the name. A group and I were tasked with creating a video displaying all the organization's work to help fund and get people homeless into housing projects and facilities. I also participated in the college brides walk, which was a protest against domestic violence. What are your future plans? My future plans as of right now include trying to produce my own television show, which at the moment I'm leaning towards reality competition, but it could truly be any genre. Before I get there, I would love to help produce on any show that would take me.
