What is your favorite location on campus?
The library is my favorite spot on campus. I enjoy doing my assignments and studying for exams there because it has study rooms with all of the necessities that you can reserve online, especially for group projects where I can work with my course mates and friends in a calm environment. Also, because the library is open till late, I have greater freedom in scheduling my study time. Dunkin' Donuts is located right behind the library, so I can take a coffee break as well.
Why did you choose Barry?
I like Barry for its small size. Its size is ideal because it allows me to connect with faculty and staff more easily, and I believe it adds to my academic success as I have a greater attention from my professors during and after classes and my advisors can work with me personally whenever I need them.
Why am I a student ambassador?
Student ambassadors are among the first people with whom incoming students build connection upon acceptance or arrival at the university. Student Ambassadors assist them in becoming familiar with the various services available on campus as well as the campus itself. I honestly feel that it facilitates college transition, and I want to contribute to this process by aiding new students, as I was in their shoes as an international student when I first arrived at Barry, and I know that Student Ambassadors can make the move even easier.
Tips for someone searching for the right college?
In my opinion, the best way to search for college is through creating a list of things you are looking for specifically in college. It might be student to faculty ratio, location, available programs, etc., and come up with the list of top ten to five universities in order from most to least likely to attend. After that if it is possible to take a campus tour in person or virtually because it helps to see where you will spend your next four years as a student and decide if it’s your right fit.
