The Department of Chemistry and Physics at Barry changed my life. I did not have an interest in chemistry when I first began as a pre-med major at Barry University. However, after taking organic chemistry, I knew that I wanted to continue the chemistry path and changed my major to chemistry. The support that I received from the department was paramount in creating a foundation in which I learned to believe in myself. It also prepared me to succeed in graduate school and the career path I chose.  I always wanted to help people and now, as a synthetic chemist at Eli Lilly, I work on discovering novel medicines that make life better for people around the world.
