Career and Experiential Learning

Career and Experiential Learning (CEL) offers the following programming to all undergraduate and graduate students.

Leadership Conferences & Summits

Leadership & Career Conference: Barry University’s annual conference provides students with opportunities to explore their leadership potential, interact with peers and presenters, and develop a greater understanding of how they can make a positive contribution in the world.

Women’s LeadHERship Summit: The Barry University Women’s LeadHERhip Summit empowers women personally, professionally, and academically. The Summit engages, inspires and connects women leaders - and those interested in promoting the success of women leaders - in the Barry community and beyond. Program components may include a keynote speaker, breakout sessions, round table discussion, panel presentations, formal dinner, networking reception, and more.

Emerging Leaders Program: Undergraduate students are invited to participate in a leadership certificate program during the fall semester, which includes self-discovery, team building, and reflection. This cohort program introduces students to the Social Change Model of Leadership Development through fun, hands-on sessions featuring guest speakers and Peer Mentors.

Environmental Leadership Experience: ELE is a 7-day experiential opportunity for Barry University students to learn about sustainable agricultural ecosystems in Adrian, Michigan. Through the lens of environmental stewardship, this once-a-year opportunity offers hands-on activities at the Adrian Dominican Motherhouse Permaculture site, with service and day trips to local points of interest. Students selected to participate in this summer experience are expected to implement a sustainability initiative here at Barry University after their time in Adrian, Michigan.
