Dr. Jacob Ausderan will present on the electoral college. During the presentation guests will learn more about what the electoral college is in regard to how the electoral college can be confusing to some. Also discussed will be how the electoral college relates to the presidential election.

Intercoastal Clean Up Day

Mega Citizenship Campaign at Barry University

Miami Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava’s Office of the New Americans has partnered with Barry University Institute for Immigration Studies for the Mega Citizenship Campaign bringing trained volunteers, paralegals, and attorneys to assist in completing US Citizenship forms.
Event is open to all Barry Students, Faculty, and general public interested in becoming US citizens.

Understanding and Preventing Islamophobia: An Experiential Dialogue

Join the J.E.D.I. Office for an interactive evening designed to foster understanding and community while building awareness and preparing participants to act as inclusive leaders. Activities will help participants delve into the roots and common tropes of Islamophobia, examine its impact on Muslim and Arab American communities, and to unequivocally reject the false narratives that dehumanize Muslims. Through sharing, listening, learning, and challenging assumptions, the program seeks to create a community rooted in understanding, empathy, and justice.

Let us come together as community to reflect on peace, and to pray for peace and healing from various forms of divisions in our communities. “Peace is the fruit of relationships that recognize and welcome others in their inalienable dignity…” (Pope Francis).
Leadership and Inclusion Conference

The annual Leadership and Inclusion Conference provides students with opportunities to explore their leadership potential, interact with peers and presenters, and develop a greater understanding of how they can make a positive contribution in the world. The conference will feature a guest keynote speaker, Senator Shevrin Jones, as he talks about “Leading Outside the Box” and our responsibility of civic engagement within our communities. The conference also includes multiple breakout sessions, relevant to both established and emerging student leaders.
