Welcoming Arms

In June, Barry hosted a celebration to recognize the efforts of the C.H.A.M.P.S. Seeds of Hope program for displaced children from Ukraine, organized in partnership with Florida for Ukraine, a nonprofit organization leading support efforts for Ukrainian refugees in South Florida. The children, along with their parents, took part in an ation-packed morning of fun and educational activities. The event marks the culmination of a three-week summer program for 30 displaced Ukrainian children hosted by Barry University’s CARE (Counseling, Assessment, Research, and Education) Center.

What a Racket

The top-ranked Barry Buccaneers set an NCAA Division II record with their fifth straight women’s tennis championship, by rallying back to beat the fourth-ranked Central Oklahoma Bronchos 4-1 this spring. The second-ranked and third-seeded men’s tennis claimed the program’s third straight NCAA Division II National Championship with a 4-1 win over 10th-ranked and fourth-seeded Wayne State from Michigan. Barry has now won six overall men’s tennis championships, with the last three straight titles.
