On March 18th, the Chemistry and Physics Department at Barry University, hosted a “Science Magic Show” for the young participants of the Seeds of Hope Program spearheaded by ADSOE-LHD. The show featured several chemistry and physics demonstrations and was followed by hands-on science activities, including how to conduct science experiments using readily available household items.
Participants got to make slime, build a lava lamp, and learn many principles of chemistry and physics including electricity, acid-base chemistry, gas laws, separations, and fluorescence. From designing experiments to leading demonstrations and activities, chemistry and physics faculty, staff and students joined forces to make this a spectacular show.
